Setting Up Stripe

This guide shows you how to connect Stripe with your studio to receive payments.

Prerequisites

Before you start:

  • A valid Stripe account (or create one during setup)
  • Business details (name, address, tax number)
  • Bank account for payouts
  • ID document for verification

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open Payouts

Navigate to Settings → Payouts in your admin dashboard.

2. Connect with Stripe

Click on "Connect with Stripe". You will be redirected to Stripe.

3. Create or Connect a Stripe Account

New account:

  • Enter email address
  • Set a password
  • Select business type (sole trader, GmbH, etc.)

Existing account:

  • Sign in with your Stripe login
  • Confirm permissions for Bookicorn

4. Enter Business Details

Stripe requires:

5. Add Bank Account

For payouts:

  • IBAN of your business account
  • Account holder name
  • Bank is automatically detected

6. Verify Identity

Stripe requires an identity check:

  • Upload ID document (national ID/passport)
  • Selfie for verification
  • Usually takes just a few minutes

7. Return to Bookicorn

After a successful setup, you are automatically redirected back. The status shows:

  • Onboarding completed
  • Payments enabled
  • Payouts enabled

After Setup

Dashboard Access

You now have access to the full Stripe dashboard:

  • Transaction overview
  • Payout history
  • Customer information
  • Dispute management

Adjusting Settings

Payout schedule:

  • Daily, weekly, monthly, or manual

Payment methods:

  • Cards (standard)
  • SEPA, PayPal, Klarna (depending on plan)

Requirements (Missing Information)

If Stripe needs more data, you will see a list under "Missing information":

  • Business proof
  • Additional documents
  • Tax information

Click "Add information" to submit these directly to Stripe.


Common Issues

"Verification pending"

Cause: Stripe is still reviewing your documents. Solution: Wait 1–2 business days. If problems persist, contact Stripe Support.

"Payments not enabled"

Cause: Missing information in your Stripe account. Solution: Check "Requirements" and add the missing data.

"Payouts disabled"

Cause: Bank account is missing or invalid. Solution: Update bank details in Stripe.


Manual Payment (Alternative)

If you do not want to use Stripe:

  1. Go to Settings → Payouts → Manual
  2. Enter:
    • PayPal address
    • Or: IBAN, BIC, bank name, account holder
  3. Customers then pay by bank transfer

Note: With manual payment, the automatic features are not available (direct payment, credit purchase, etc.).
