Locations, rooms and resources
Locations, rooms and resources describe where your offerings take place and what is needed for them. You find locations and rooms in the Manager under Locations, resources under Offerings → Resources.
Location, room and resource: the difference

A room is a simple field on an offering or session: this is where it takes place. A resource is booked itself or occupied by a booking, for example one of four cabins. More under Resources.
Where to find locations, rooms and resources
- Manager → Locations (app.bookicorn.net/standorte): your locations.
- Manager → Locations → Rooms (app.bookicorn.net/raeume): your rooms.
- Manager → Locations → Blockings & utilization (app.bookicorn.net/raumplan): blockings and utilization. Without Occupancy Management the item is called Blockings, there you block free time selection.
- Manager → Offerings → Resources (app.bookicorn.net/ressourcen): your resources, with the "Resources" addon.
What you need locations and rooms for
- Customers see where it takes place: location and room are shown on the offering. For self check-in by location, the location needs coordinates.
- Limit spots: the number of participants of an offering can't exceed the capacity of the chosen room.
- Detect double bookings: with the "Occupancy Management" addon, the Manager warns you if a room is already occupied at the same time, and a booked time with free time selection also blocks the room for other offerings with free time selection.
- Block rooms and locations: with the "Occupancy Management" addon, you create blockings, for example for holidays or renovation.
An offering doesn't need a location. Online offerings have a link instead of a location and room.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need rooms? No. Rooms are optional. They help to link the spots to the room size and to detect double bookings.
What is the difference between a room and a resource? A room is where an offering takes place. A resource is something with a quantity that each booking occupies, for example cabins or rental equipment. Resources require the "Resources" addon.
Can I have several locations? Yes. Create more under Manager → Locations with New location.
