Group Booking
With the Group Booking addon, customers can bring further people along with a booking, for example friends or their child. Each companion takes up their own spot. You activate the addon in the Manager under Addon Store.
How customers book companions along
If the addon is active, there is a section for further people when booking:
- On the booking page it is called Additional guests. The customer enters a Name and optionally Email (optional) and taps Add guest.
- In the customer app it is called Companions, with Name of the companion, Email (optional) and Add person.
How many people can come along only depends on the free spots. There is no fixed maximum. If there aren't enough spots, Bookicorn rejects the booking.
Companions with an email address receive their own confirmation email.
There are no companions for blocks or for offerings with resources.
Book for someone else
With the I am booking for someone else checkbox, the customer doesn't take part themselves. Only the people they enter take part, for example their child. Payment and confirmation stay with the customer. This also requires the "Group Booking" addon.
Setting: do companions cost extra?
You find the settings in the addon itself: Manager → Addon Store, then tap Group Booking.
- Extra people cost extra, switched on (default): each companion pays the full price of the offering or the full credits.
- Switched off: companions take up a spot, but payment is only made once.
This is also where the Allow group booking switch is. Whether customers can book companions along currently depends solely on whether the addon is active, though. The setting applies to all offerings, and the offering itself only shows the note "Applies to all offerings".
Group bookings in the Manager
In a session's participant list, the booking person is shown at the top with the note "booked for others", and their companions are indented below. Companions don't have their own customer account.
If someone cancels a booking that leads a group, the companions are cancelled too. When cancelling in the Manager, the sheet shows a note about this.
The customer can add more people later in the customer app with Add people in their booking. You yourself book companions along when booking someone in, in the Person step under Companions, see Book in participants.
A customer's saved companions are listed in the customer sheet in the People section.
Does a group booking count as one or several bookings?
As several. Each companion is a separate booking and takes up a separate spot. For your booking quota, each person therefore counts individually, even if the companions cost nothing. How the quota is counted is described under Pricing tiers.
