How do online gift cards work for studios?
With online gift cards, you sell gifts right on your booking page: clients pick an amount and a design, write a personal message and get the gift card as a PDF with a code by email. In Bookicorn, the code is redeemed when paying for a booking, and with amount gift cards the remaining balance stays for the next booking. You can also create discount codes for promotions and generate whole code batches for partner businesses.

How to get Gift cards
You turn on Gift cards in the Add-on Store of your Manager with one tap and can switch it off at any time. It uses one of your plan's add-on slots. Once all slots are taken, you can add it on in the paid plans.

You only sell gift cards when someone stops by or messages you. You design cards by hand, keep a list of numbers and work out remaining balances yourself.

Choose an amount gift card or a credit gift card, fixed amounts and, if you like, a custom amount. Then design, format and validity.

On your booking page, clients pick an amount and a design, add a name and a personal message, and pay. The PDF with the code arrives by email.

The code is entered when paying for a booking. With amount gift cards the balance remains, credit gift cards land as credits in the client account.

Sell an amount that can be redeemed on any booking, or a fixed number of credits with a price per unit. Fixed amounts and a custom amount with a minimum and maximum.
Nine designs to choose from
From Standard and Elegant to Birthday, Valentine's Day and Christmas, landscape or portrait. Colors and logo come from your booking page. You decide which designs clients can choose and switch off seasonal ones.
PDF with a personal message
Buyers enter the recipient's name and a message. The finished gift card with its code arrives as a PDF by email, ready to print or forward.
Remaining balance is kept
One amount gift card covers several bookings. Bookicorn deducts the amount with every redemption until the gift card is used up.
Discount codes for promotions
Percentage or fixed amount, your own or a generated code, valid from and to, limited in total and per client, with a minimum order value or only for selected clients. If you like, you send the code directly by email.
Code batches for partner businesses
Generate up to 500 single-use codes at once, as a CSV and a combined PDF with QR code and redemption link. Whoever redeems one gets a credit pass with a fixed number of units, optionally only for certain offerings.
Issue gift cards directly
From client management you issue a gift card to a person, paid, with payment pending or free of charge. The person gets the same email with the PDF as with a purchase.
Refund unused gift cards
As long as a purchased gift card hasn't been redeemed, you can refund it. With card payments the money goes back automatically through Stripe, and the code becomes invalid.
