Create prepaid cards
A package is the template for a prepaid card: how many credits, at what price, how long it's valid and with which payment methods. When a customer buys the package, it becomes their prepaid card.
Where you create packages
Open Manager → Prepaid Card: app.bookicorn.net/kreditpakete. The menu item carries the card name you chose under Settings → General → Terminology. The page shows all packages with name, credits, validity, status and price.
With New Package, you create a package. When you tap an existing package, you can edit, activate or deactivate, or delete it.
Create a new package
- Tap New Package.
- Under Package type, choose:
- One-time purchase: bought once, the credit is valid until it expires.
- Subscription: renews monthly or yearly, the credits arrive automatically. For this you need the Credit Subscriptions addon.
- Enter a Name, for example "10-session pass".
- Enter the number of credits.
- Under Payment types, switch on what customers may use to pay for the package, and enter the Price. Below it, the Manager shows the price per credit.
- If needed, set validity, description and restrictions in the sections below.
- Tap the button to create it.
Name, credits, price and at least one payment method are required. The price can't be negative.
Payment methods of a package
Each package has its own selection of payment methods: Stripe, PayPal, Manual: bank transfer/PayPal and Payment on site. At purchase, only the payment methods appear that are switched on in the package and that you haven't switched off under Settings → Payment methods.
If you have payment on site switched on studio-wide but only chose Stripe in the package, customers won't see payment on site when buying this package. In that case, switch it on in the package.
Payment methods your studio hasn't set up yet are listed under More payment methods with the option Set up.
Description, highlight and status
In the Basic section:
- Description (optional): a sentence for your customers, for example who the package is meant for.
- Mark as popular: highlights the package as "Popular".
- Package active: customers can only buy active packages. If you switch a package off, cards that have already been sold stay valid.
- Internal package (admin only): with the Subsidized Courses addon. The package then appears neither on your booking page nor in the customer area, and you assign it to customers yourself.
Validity of a package
In the Validity section, you set two things:
- When do credits become available?: Immediately after purchase, On first use or Fixed start date
- When do credits expire?: From purchase, From start, Fixed expiry date or Never expire
With From purchase and From start, you enter the Validity period with a unit: days, weeks, months or years. Below it, the Manager shows the duration in days. A month counts as 30 days and a year as 365 days.

Restrictions in the Advanced section
In the Advanced section:
- Category restrictions: if you choose categories, the card only applies to offerings that have one of them, as their main category or as an additional category. Leaving it empty means it applies to all. If you rename a category, the card keeps applying under the new name.
- Trainer restriction (optional): if you choose a trainer, the card only applies to offerings this trainer leads. See Trainer-bound prepaid cards.
Bookicorn transfers the restrictions to the customer's card at purchase. Currently, the following applies:
- The category restriction is transferred for one-time purchases and trial offers, not for subscription packages.
- The trainer restriction is only transferred for one-time purchases via Stripe or PayPal, not for payment on site, bank transfer or subscriptions.
- Cards you grant manually in the customer profile don't take over either restriction, even if you choose a package as the template.
Trial offers
With the Trial Offers addon, you turn a package into an introductory offer for new customers. In the Advanced section:
- Switch on Mark as trial offer.
- Leave New customers only switched on if only people who have never booked or bought anything from you should get it.
- Under Max. redemptions per person, set how often one person may get the package.
With a price of 0, Bookicorn adds the credits directly, without a payment step. Once a person has used the trial offer as often as allowed, they no longer see it.
Edit a package
Tap the package, change the fields and tap Update. The changes apply to future purchases. Cards customers have already bought stay as they were at purchase.
For subscription packages, the Package type and the number of credits can no longer be changed after saving. The Manager then shows: "The type can't be changed after the first sale."
Deactivate or delete a package
- Deactivate: the package is removed from sale. Cards that have been sold stay valid. With Activate, you bring it back.
- Delete: the package is removed. Cards customers have already bought remain. Packages that customers have a subscription to can't be deleted, so deactivate them instead.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't my customer pay for the package in cash? Payment on site isn't switched on in the package. Open the package and switch it on under Payment types.
How do I create a 10-session pass? New Package, type One-time purchase, name "10-session pass", 10 credits, choose payment methods and price, set a validity if needed, create.
Can I sell a package only for certain courses? Yes, with a category restriction in the Advanced section. The card then only applies to offerings that have one of the categories you selected there.
What happens to sold cards if I change the package? Nothing. Changes only apply to new purchases.
Where do I sell the package? On your booking page, for example through the Credit packages block, and in the customer app. Active packages appear there automatically.
