Trial Offers
With the Trial Offers addon, you turn a prepaid card into an offer for getting to know you, for example a free or low-cost trial class for new customers. When someone buys it, Bookicorn automatically checks whether they are new and how often they have already used the offer. You activate the addon in the Manager under Addon Store.
Create a trial offer
A trial offer is a prepaid card with special rules:
- In the Manager, open Prepaid Card (your studio's term appears there, for example "Stamp Card").
- Create a new prepaid card or open an existing one.
- Open the Advanced section.
- Switch on Mark as trial offer.
- Set New customers only and Max. redemptions per person.
- Save the prepaid card.
Without the addon, the Advanced section shows a note with the way to the Addon Store. How to create prepaid cards in general is described under Create packages.
Rules: new customers and redemptions
- New customers only (on by default): only people who aren't yet listed as customers of your studio can buy the trial offer. Anyone who has already registered, booked or bought with you is in your customer list and no longer counts as new.
- Max. redemptions per person (1 by default): how often the same person can buy the trial offer. Once the limit is reached, it is no longer shown to them.
If the trial offer costs 0, Bookicorn adds the credits directly, without payment.
The rules apply to every way of buying, online by card or PayPal and when redeeming a voucher.
How the trial offer appears to customers
On your booking page, you show trial offers with dedicated building blocks, which you add under Settings → My Booking Page:
- Trial packages: shows all trial offers with the "Trial package" badge, for new-customer offers also "New customers only", and the Try it button. This building block requires the addon.
- Intro offer: a colored area with "New here?", "Trial offer for new customers" and the Claim trial offer button. It only shows trial offers with New customers only.
Trial offers don't appear in the regular building block for prepaid cards.
In the customer app, the trial offer appears as a note on the home screen, with its price or as free. The purchased card has the "Trial" badge.
Change the color of the trial offer
There is no separate color setting for the trial offer.
- The colored area of the Intro offer building block takes the color gradient of your booking page's theme. You can only change it by choosing another theme under Settings → My Booking Page. Custom colors don't change this gradient.
- In the Trial packages building block, the badge and button follow the main color and the button color of your booking page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I offer a free trial class? Create a prepaid card with the price 0 and as many credits as one class costs. Mark it as a trial offer with New customers only.
Who counts as a new customer? Anyone who isn't yet in your customer list. Anyone who has already registered, booked or bought with you no longer counts as new.
Can someone use the trial offer several times? Only as often as you set under Max. redemptions per person. The default is once.
How do I change the color of the trial offer? There is no separate color. The area follows your booking page's theme, and in the Trial packages building block the main and button color.
Where do customers see the trial offer? On the booking page in the Trial packages or Intro offer building blocks and in the customer app.
