Meta Pixel
With the Meta Pixel addon you measure whether your ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to bookings. You only enter your pixel's ID, and Bookicorn then tells Meta what happens on your booking page. You don't need to add any code.
What is measured
| What happens | Event at Meta |
|---|---|
| Someone opens your booking page | PageView |
| Someone starts a booking, a credit purchase or a voucher purchase | InitiateCheckout |
| A booking or purchase is confirmed, with amount and currency | Purchase |
| A request or a spot on the waitlist | Schedule |
Purchase only comes once the booking is confirmed, not when a time is chosen. For payments via Stripe, the success page after payment counts. Bookicorn reports a booking on request as Schedule, not as a purchase. If someone pays with credits, the booking goes to Meta with €0; the revenue counts when the credit card is bought.
Measurement only happens on your booking page, meaning under your studio address or your own domain. Bookicorn measures nothing in the customer app or the customer area.
Activating Meta Pixel
You activate the addon under Manager → Addon Store with Meta Pixel and Activate. It is a regular addon and takes up one addon slot in your plan. If all slots are taken, you book it on top for a fee; you'll see the price in the Addon Store.
Entering your Pixel ID
- In Meta Events Manager, open your pixel under Data sources and copy the Pixel ID. It is a number with 15 or 16 digits.
- In the Manager, open Settings → Active Add-ons → Meta Pixel.
- Enter the ID under Pixel ID. It is saved as soon as you leave the field.
You don't need Meta's full pixel code, only the digits. For security reasons Bookicorn does not take over third-party code.
Your visitors' consent
The pixel only loads once a visitor switches on Ad measurement in the cookie notice of your booking page or chooses Accept all. Without this yes, nothing is sent to Meta. The decision only applies to your booking page, not to other studios on Bookicorn.
While the addon is active, the privacy page of your booking page mentions the pixel automatically. If you have a privacy policy on your own website, add the Meta Pixel there as well.
Testing
In Meta Events Manager, Test events shows what arrives. Open your booking page, switch on Ad measurement in the cookie notice and make a test booking. After a few seconds, PageView, InitiateCheckout and, after confirmation, Purchase appear.
Nothing arrives?
- Open your booking page straight from Test events and give consent in the cookie notice there. Without consent the pixel does not load, not even for you.
- The pixel is not in the page source. It only loads after consent, so you will never find it there.
- Ad blockers, the Brave browser and the tracking protection of some private windows stop the pixel. Test in a normal window without extensions.
- If you already chose Necessary only, the notice does not ask again. Open Cookie settings at the bottom of your booking page and switch on Ad measurement.
- InitiateCheckout arrives as soon as you open a booking window, Purchase only after a confirmed booking.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Meta show fewer views than I have visitors? Only visitors who agree in the cookie notice are counted. Ad blockers also stop the pixel from loading.
What happens when the addon ends? The pixel no longer loads, even if the Pixel ID stays saved.
Does the pixel also work in the customer app? No, only on your booking page.
